We were lucky to see the New York premiere HORTON HEARS A WHO. Blue Sky Studios rented the historic Ziegfeld theater, downtown Manhattan, for the first screening of the movie for the crew and their families.

You have probably seen the film by now (since it made 230 million in the first few weeks). If you haven’t seen it, when you do stay for the credits and watch for Jason Martinsen (Animators). Jason animated many scenes, and most of those involving the evil character, VLAD.

Ikonics Corporation faced a tight deadline with their latest annual report. Using PDF for the review cycle, we were able to complete the design and production for the project (including many financial charts and tables) in just 3 days. Final files were uploaded to the printer overnight to meet the deadline.

Horton Hears A Who tells the story of Horton the Elephant who one day, on the fifteenth of May in the Jungle of Nool to be precise, hears a small speck of dust talking to him. It turns out the speck of dust is actually a tiny planet, home to a city called “Who-ville,” inhabited by microscopic-sized inhabitants known as Whos.

Blue Sky Studios is currently in final production of an animated version of the story slated for a March 2008 release.

A “blog” is an easy (fast, free) way to add a CMS to your site. Technically, a blog is a Content Management System (CMS). Authors and users can easily add and edit content which is stored in a database on the web-server. WordPress software (used here) is excellent, well supported, and Open Source.

For the past 4 years, Julie has been in Nelson BC, Canada, studying at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences (ACOS). Now she is working on setting up her clinical practice back home in Bayfield, Wisconsin USA.

The new logo design includes a pine tree graphic with seasonal background colors to encourage year-round visitors.

Pinehurst Inn needed to update the look of their website. Also, they wanted to maintain frequently changing sections of the site themselves. By setting up a dynamic database website-within-a-website using WordPress CMS (Content Management System) they are now able to new create pages, and additional subsections, easily — without knowledge of complex HTML coding.

In addition to the deer HERD stampedes, springtime visitor highlights included a mother bear with 5 cubs in tow, a fox and her 3 kits, a family of fishers (ma and 4 younguns’), and a badger. Lots of birds too!
